India Together (IT) is an electronic newsmagazine devoted to coverage of public affairs, policy, and development in India, providing news in proportion to the country's broad development experiences. IT was founded in 1998 by Subramaniam Vincent and Ashwin Mahesh. In 2012, the operations of IT were taken over by Oorvani Media, which also publishes the community and local affairs magazine, Citizen Matters, in Bangalore, founded in 2007 by Subramaniam Vincent and Meera K.
IT provides in-depth information & news on the issues that matter covering 15 major topics and over 15 states. The magazine also helps leaders, experts, practitioners, scholars and artists take their ideas, insights and concerns expeditiously to an interested national and global audience.
Stories and other articles in IT include
- Reports from professional freelance journalists;
- Columns from journalists and people with knowledge in their fields as well as some standing; and
- Perspectives, commentary, interpretative and analysis articles from practitioners and experts; occasionally as guests.
All articles are published after in-depth reviews of material by editors during which authors respond to questions and make clarifications. Authors get to review the final cut before we publish the article.
Our journalism is supported by Oorvani Foundation, a non-profit trust setup to ensure an independent community-funded media. The foundation develops and promotes deep-diving journalism on governance, citizenship and society at the city, state and national levels.
